Hi, I was trying to find out information about my great-grandmother,
Bess White. This much I know:
Her and her parents moved to Media, Illinois in 1908 from
Tennessee. I don't know exactly when she moved from
Henderson County to Warren County, but I do know that
she died in a nursing home in Roseville, Illinois in 1975.
I was hoping that someone could find an obit on her
or her parents, Scott White and Sophia Rush. They died
in Illinois in 1940 and 1936 respectively.
Thanks in advance for any help that you can provide.

I have two photographs of the same gravestone, with only the surname
WICK visible. It is a large stone, probably double. On the back of one
photo it says "Monmouth IL" and on the other it says "Burlington
Cemetary." It indicates that the grave belongs to my gg grandparents,
whose names I do not know. Their son Wm Rufus Wick was b 1853 in PA, and
died 1924 in IA. He married Emily Mahaffey in 1876 in Farmington, IL.
The photos are from the 1920s or 30s. I would appreciate any info on
WICKs and MAHAFFEYs in the area, and how to get further info about and
from the cemetary. (These WICKs are not mentioned in their
daughter-in-law's obituary in 1911, so I would assume they died between
1876 and 1911.) Thanks.

Dear Kathy:
I have some reference material regarding Mary (JAMES) CUNNINGHAM. The
information is that she died 3 Feb. 1867 and is buried in Section C of
Greenbush Cemetery, Warren County. The source goes on to say that
"Mary's last name is spelled Osborne according to the Tombstone
Inscription Book for Greenbush Cemetery". Do you know someone who would
look up this book and clarify what this last comment means? I will be
happy to pay a research fee.
My wife is also descended from the Young family of Warren County and we
had the pleasure of meeting her cousin, Mary Lawrence, several years
ago.

daughter Jane E. ROWE BLAYNY, who was married to Duncan BLAYNY on

the 1880 Census in Warren Co, IL where he died in 1885. He was married
to Matilda WALLACE, but by the time of the 1880 census, he was a

Looking for more information regarding when Matilda died; who Jeremiah

PEARCELEY or PEARSLEY - My great-grandparents were somewhere in Illinois
in 1870. My g-grandfather was John Pearceley (b. Scotland 1840). (The
name is spelled "Pearceley" or "Pearsley.") There is a rumor that he had
a brother, William, living south of Moline and later around Henderson
Creek. John appears on the 1880 census in Johnson County, NE. and my
grandfather, Adolphus Orison or Arthur O., was born in 1872 in Johnson
Co., but his sister, Martha, is listed on that same 1880 census as age
10 having been born in Illinois (no county given). My g-grandmother's
name was Susan. I know nothing more about her as she died shortly after
her son, my grandfather, was born in NE. I would be grateful to anyone
who could help me find out more about either g-grandparent: an 1860/70
census, a marriage index, or the birth of Martha PEARCELEY / PEARSLEY.
