Searching for any records, relatives or information on Louis Lincoln ELLIOTT. He is said to have died in Monmouth, Warren County in about 1892. He may have been only in his late 20s or early 30s at the time. His wife was Mary Ellen Shea ELLIOTT who was from Elmira NY. They had a baby son named Leo Louis ELLIOTT who had been born in Binghamton, NY,and there may have been twins born around 1890 who did not survive. Louis' father is said to have been named Daniel and his mother was said to be from Boone, Iowa, although we don't know her name and can find no record of her or Louis or Daniel there. We are wondering why he would have gone to Monmouth. Perhaps he had family there. He had been listed as a cigar maker in Elmira. Were there any cigar factories in Monmouth? Were there any railroad people there at that time? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I am looking for information about a Samuel Foster son of James Couples Foster. Samuel was born in Abbeville County, South Carolina in 1778. He is supposed to have died in Warren County in the 1840 or 50's. I have information about Robert Foster of Randolph County. I am trying to see if this Samuel was a brother or a Cousin. Robert moved from Abbeville to Randolph in 1808 where he died in 1831. Thanks, John Parker alaska@halcyon.com

I am looking for marriage, death, property and family information on J. W. BERRY, wife Catherine and "son" William Sanford BERRY (I need J.W.'s real name and not initials). They are listed on page 6, 1880 Census of Monmouth Twp exclusive of City of Monmouth, Warren Co., as W.S. Berry, age 48, farmer, b. Kentucky...wife Catherine, age 38, keeps house, b. Ohio...son William, age 13, at school, b. Indiana. J.W.BERRY and Catherine BERRY were William's aunt and uncle? and not his real parents. His real parents were Isaiah BERRY, b.abt. 1820 in Kentucky and Susan D. BURRESS, b.abt 1834-35 in Kentucky, married June 2, 1853 Washington Twp., Daviess County, Indiana. Isaiah and Susan BERRY had at least 3 children: daughter Sarah, b.abt 1857, IN, daughter Alice b.abt 1859, IN, and William S. BERRY, b. Dec. 1866, Washington Twp, Daviess County, IN. Isaiah BERRY died of TB just prior to William's birth and mother Susan D. BURRESS BERRY died of TB Dec 1866/Jan 1867 right after William's birth. Family stories say the sister/sisters had died of TB prior to 1866 and a pipe smoking grandmother from Kentucky took infant William by wagon to Monmouth, Illinois area farm of Isaiah's childless brother(?) and wife. William Sanford BERRY and Aurinda Sophronia FERRIS (b. Galesburg, IL June 29, 1972) were married April 24, 1894 in Monmouth, Illinois, moved to Gardner, Montana about 1902 and owned Gardner Photographic Studio. Willie and Aurie BERRY had one son (my father), Ferris Milton BERRY, b. Feb. 13, 1912, Livingston, Montana.

Hi
I am searching for information on two sisters, Mary E. CAMPBELL b. 1875 and Olive "Ollie" CAMPBELL b. abt. 1879. They were daughters of Mary Ellen STOUT and James Madison CAMPBELL of Perry County, Illinois. When their mother, Mary Ellen died suddenly in 1886, all of her children were "taken by other to raise". Have recently found the two sisters were both married in Monmouth, Warren County, Illinois--Mary to HARRY SHERMAN in 1895 and Olive to ERNEST G. PETERSON in 1897, son of John A. Peterson. Ernest was in restaurant business in Monmouth at the time of marriage. Any information on these two sisters, and particularly who might have raised them, would be very appreciated. Possibly raised by the following surnames: CAMPBELL, STOUT, BIGHAM, SMITH.
Thank you .
Susan Patton

hogans@ktc.com TEDROW,RAMP, WOODRING (WOTRING)
Looking for any information on the above surnames. Cynthia Ann Woodring, born 1842 OH, was on 1860 Warren Co census as Cintha Ann Tedrow (apparently head of the house hold), and married William Ramp, a widower with at least 5 children, in that county in 1865. She had 2 children (Lena, Hiram) of her own in 1865. They were in Lyon Co. KS by 1867 and had 3 children: Sam, Frank and Mary. Wm. died in Lyon Co in 1881. Her third husband was Harry Oscar Hogan, and their son, Harry Earle, was born in 1888 in Armourdale, Wyandotte Co., KS. Who was Cynthia's first husband, and who are her parents???? Dot Hogan 117 Crestwood Kerrville, TX 78028

I am looking for the parents of Cynthia Ann Woodring (b. c1842 in Ohio) and Jonas Tedrow who were married in ILL in 1859. (Her name was reported erroneously as Woodruff) She is listed on the Warren Co 1860 census with a 4 month old son, Hiram, but Jonas is not listed. However, they had a daughter (Lena) a year or so later, so he must have been around somewhere....at least until 1865 when she married # 2, William Ramp in Warren Co. Shortly afterward they moved to Lyon Co, KS. and had 3 children (Sam, Frank, Mary). After William died she was married c1886 to #3 Harry Oscar Hogan in KS, and they had one son, Harry Earle Hogan.
